Will lash extensions damage my lashes?

This is by far the most common question I get asked..and what are the extensions made out of?

Firstly Id like to be honest with the materials of lashes..they are ALL essentially synthetic UNLESS they are siberian mink lashes. Yes, even your "silk" lashes. They are silk blends or nylon blends..basically like the material your stockings are made of. I see a lot of spas advertise according to the material (silk, sable, mink, cashmere, velvet etc) but these are more marketing labels when essentially lash materials are basically the same. They all come from the same few sources and although quality will differ according to your artist and what she chooses, the material is the least of your worries!

Your main question should be "How long have you been lashing?"

Lash Extensions are straight forward to apply (except for volume..now thats a whole other blog!) BUT it is a skill that takes time because so many things have to be considered to maintain lash health. My number one pet peeve is lash techs who use way too much glue and use way too heavy lashes so that clients have damage to their natural lashes. If your artist has been lashing awhile she will know this from experience! Now and again I still get asked if they will damage their lashes...well we have come a long way from 0.2 and 0.25 lashes (what I learnt with!) and now lashes are as light as 0.03! (mega volume) So if you have weak or smaller lashes you will be able to hold finer lashes and if you have thick long lashes you can be extra and rock Kim K lashes! Now if you would like to get that glam look but have smaller lashes you'll need to get on a lash serum for 2 months and then you'll be able to add M O R E !! :)
